Following the below hints will allow you to recycle
more and avoid distasteful smells.
- Allow piles to dry
- Mulch lawn clippings
- Leave lid open for an hour
Allow piles to dry:
after weeding, cutting, and mowing leave piles out in the sun for a
couple of hours before placing them in the container. They
will dry out and shrink.
Mulch short lawn
clippings: use a mulching lawn mower. The lawn
clippings will help keep moisture in your growning lawn.
Although you may put grass clippings in the yard waste recycling
container, they are more beneficial for your lawn and our
environment left on your lawn.
Leave container lid open:
the goal is minimal moisture when reducing unpleasant smells.
Dry the container out every week by leaving the lid open a couple
hours after the container is emptied.
