Household hazardous waste

The household hazardous waste collection program is provided by the Salt Lake Valley Health Department. For additional information, click here, or call 541-4078.

Household hazardous waste may include:

  • Paints

  • Pesticides

  • Oil

  • Transmission fluid

  • Antifreeze

  • Batteries

  • Fluorescent light tubes

  • Other chemicals

2008 Special Collection Events

In addition to the permanent collection facilities that accept household hazardous waste, the Salt Lake Valley Health Department will be holding community collection events at the following locations. This service is provided only for Salt Lake Valley residents and is free.  If you have questions about these events, please call 313-6745.

Small business hazardous waste

Small business hazardous waste (hazardous waste from small business generators) can be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility for a fee. For price quotes and appointments on small business hazardous waste, call 541-4078.
